Music

Grace Lutheran School provides a quality, standards based music curriculum for all students in Preschool – 6th grade.

Students in our Early Childhood program and Kindergarten receive age appropriate, developmental music instruction weekly.

The children are given the opportunity to sing, dance, play instruments, and learn the fundamentals of music through music games and action songs.

All students in 1st-5th grade receive twice weekly music instruction in music theory, ear training, and music appreciation. Students are actively engaged in learning through singing, playing instruments (including Orff instruments), and participating in interactive whiteboard music activities.

Students in 4th and 5th grade continue to practice their ability to sight read music by learning to play the recorder. Students in 6th grade participate in learning to play hand bells. Students in 7th and 8th grade are given the opportunity to participate in various music groups as electives.

There are many opportunities for our students to participate in vocal and instrumental music groups and ensembles. These groups perform for a variety of programs and worship services throughout the school year.
